New immigrants from India need to make important financial decisions in order to help them get settled and start building their new life in Canada. Tips are available on: opening a bank account in Canada before they move; the transfer of money from one country to another; building a credit history; buying a car or home; saving for their childrens education; and starting a business.

    It must be very difficult for new immigrants entering this country with a dream to start a business. It’s tough enough having to deal with the paperwork of it all but to understand the market and hopefully grow it to be something successful is another concern.

    I am a first generation iranian and moving into Canada wasn’t all that bad. The hardest part was building a reliable credit history. I ended up having to create a secure credit card where i deposited a certain amount of my own money into the account and after 3 years my credit rating was enough to do other things.
