Foreign Affairs is warning Canadians to be careful while travelling in Europe amid new terrorist fears there.

The department stopped short of issuing a bona fide travel advisory Sunday but did say Canadians should “be aware” of their surroundings, and the department is “closely monitoring” the situation.

“Canadians should be aware of their surroundings at all times, monitor local news reports, follow the advice of local authorities, and take appropriate steps to ensure their personal security,” wrote department spokeswoman Priya Sinha in an e-mail. “We encourage Canadians to regularly consult the www.travel.gc.ca website for updated information and to register with the registration of Canadians abroad service in order to receive the latest advice.”  Read More…
