The correction many have been waiting for appears to have arrived, according to Tony Dwyer, U.S. portfolio strategist at Canaccord Genuity.

He believes in order for this meaningful equity market pullback to last more than a day, there must be a fear of fundamental change.

And Mr. Dwyer thinks enough ammunition is being provided by weak Chinese manufacturing data, more tapering from the Federal Reserve at its meeting next week, and U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew renewing debt ceiling fears.  Read More…

  1. This is all expected. We’ve been riding a wave of positive returns for years now and its finally about time the REIT and rest of the market begin its correction. Welcome!

  2. This is why i tend to have gold in my portfolio to offset such things.

  3. Some down turn is bound to happen but this is just good news for savy investors since it means one can buy in cheap since things will turn around, as they always do.

  4. I still don’t agree. The fundamentals still show the economy is still primed for more growth in 2014. My returns have been pretty good.
