As a financial advisor, I have spent many years helping other people overcome financial stumbling blocks so they can become rich. Ironically, the one person I have had the most trouble helping is myself.

  1. Yea so heres the thing. THe reason why am not rich or for that matter people who aren’t rich is because of

    A) Procrastination
    B) Not enough luck
    and C) Weren’t born with certain prvileges

  3. It all depensds on how disiplined one is in making investments and sticking with them.

    Most people end up needing to buy the next shiny trinket that is advertised to them in the news. That is why they aren’t rich.

  4. With so many free credit cards now these days compared to the past when you had to go for a true credit check and be much older (beyond college) because the banks weren’t as federally secured as they are now this gave many folks the ability to spend on debt like it was no tomorrow.

  6. Starting late is the likely culprit for most Canadians. People don’t like to save until they get older and by then its probably too late to eventually wind up with a healthy nest egg.

  7. Rich is relative don’t you think? We in this country are doing much better than the average person in the East. So stop complaining and enjoy life :greed:

  8. I watched the pretty good documentary Maxed Out i found here on Canadian Profiteer and it pretty much sums up why we arent rich. Great work!

  9. I live the section about ‘one-trick investor’. That is like me totally. LOL! I am now 50 and learned the value of mixed investing way too late. I also figured if you invested in something safe for the long term you could end up rich.

    Word to the wise: You have to be active in your investments!

    Life experience.

  10. Couldn’t one just move to a poor country like somewhere in Europe and be declared King because your monetary value is much more than the average denizen? Who wouldn’t want to be treated like a king ๐Ÿ˜€
